‘You Make Your Own Luck’ came about one day when I caught sight of a penny on the pavement. Coins are usually dull and tarnished but this one was gleaming the sunshine and seemed to be looking up at me from the pavement. It made me think of the value of money, and this combined with the idea of the lucky penny crystallised the concept in my mind. It’s one of those essential life lessons that sometimes you have to see the value in what is around you and make your own luck rather than wait for things to happen.
